Need to find a replacement for my MNB wheel. She is not looking good after a recent good cleaning. Got this out of a Cougar. It's not like the MNB is lacking black with the plastic around the gauges, radio, shift boots, etc. I'd have the symbols on the cruise buttons to be different.

But I'd get a black wheel skin and it would look the same as this. Just don't have the patience to install one properly.
 
A nice fresh steering wheel...I can imagine that it would look like it belongs. Shifter and e-brake are both black iirc.
 
i did mine in i think 15 minutes, of course i did the basice needle pattern, there's all sorts of ways to thread the needle through the wheel skin. dad does his with a tripple cross so it looks sick as can be.
 
I had it in one of my SVT's and I hated it. It was the same Cougar wheel and I didn't like it when I first saw it and it never grew on me. It always looked out of place even with all the black trim pieces. My vote is no, but that is just my opinion from personal experience. I guess it all depends on how bad your MNB wheel really is, but think I'd still vote no regardless of that.

I thought about doing one for a while but it always seemed like it would be out of place.

The picture is a little too dark for me to decide. It might look fine in low lighting, but when the sun hits the MNB and it turns purple and you have a black wheel, it probably wouldn't look too hot.
 
There needs to be a "undecided" option for the poll. Just looking at the wheel itself I think it looks bad. However, I think once its in the car it might look good. So I am unsure at this point.
 
There are 5 black steering wheels for the SVT on EBAY. I was curious as well about how it would look with the tan interior.

Anyways you may find a better picture there.

Black interior never came with any Contours. They are 99-00 Cougar wheels. I think the ones you are talking about have no cruise control buttons or mounting.
 
As it sits right now it looks like poop. As was mentioned, paint the air bag as well...I think it will look better than having a crappy MNB wheel.

EDIT: Or you can use the Cougar air bag and get a logo overlay...
