At the dealership they told me it was a leak in the manifold. At the risk of sounding stupid, what are they talking about? UIM? LIM? Exhaust Manifold?

Is there such thing as an AC manifold?

Dont worry about sounding stupid when they are saying way crazier things. If the air isnt blowing cold you have air and/or low pressure in the system from a leak. Nothing to do with lead or your intake manifolds.

or a clutch air gap issue ....

Or the A/C manifold is leaking.

If you don't know what the A/C manifold is, you'd best get out the service manual...and you shouldn't be trying to answer questions about it.

Well, I thought they were pulling his leg as well, until I remembered the tubing assembly bolted to the compressor, there's o-rings behind it. Old age sucks, I'm dumping information from my hard drive every day now it seems. Most of the a/c leak problems I've encountered have been just slow leakage at any of the various quick couplings to be found on the car. I never see any catastrophic hose blowouts like used to happen on the older cars. Most of them used to hold pressure better though it seems since all couplings were positively hard bolted together.

Bingo!

Ain't that the truth! A couple of days ago, I sat down at a computer terminal at work and drew a complete blank on the name of the application that I've used every workday for six years to do price lookups..... I tell people I don't want to learn anything new because the new stuff pushes something old out the other side, but I don't know what it is....
