...well my Contour got its first taste of blood this morning. At about 6:45am I was going ~60mph and a full size red squirrel ran out into the road. I wasn't going to swerve, its too close to Carisle, even if I am on an open back road.

Poor little thing stopped in the middle of the lane, and I was like sweet, won't crush the little bugger. Then last second he darted to the right and I popped him with the rear tire. At 40psi he was nothing more then a little pa-dunk in the rear suspension. I looked back to to see the tail sticking up in the air. Damn thing never stood a chance.

Thats one only animal I've hit in the 3 1/2 years. Guess I'm doing pretty good, but not I need road kill vinyls on the side of the car.

i hit one once too...same thing happened, he stopped right in the middle of the car so i figured i'd go right over him. well, he must have stood up too high, cause he got clipped from something under the car and then i heard/felt him bouncing around under there until he came out from under the rear bumper, and I saw him rolling down the street in the rear view mirror.

my friend looks over at me and says: "murderer"

i lol'd

last fall i was driving down a wide open road and 2 squirrels looked too be frolicking in the field running towards the road. almost like an inevitable accident you see happening in slow motion. the 2 squirrels ran up to the curb where one stopped, the other continued and ran right under my back pass tire.
in the rear view all i could see was the second squirrel standing at the curb looking at his flattened pal :(
