OK...I replaced the sensor, have an MIL eliminator on there also, and I am still getting this code....

The new sensor I put in kind of threw me off when installing it because the 2 white wires were exactly the same with no distinguishing marks on them, and they were not in the exact same locations on the O2 sensor as the stock O2 sensor, so my question is:

Does it matter which way the heated white wires are connected? If I were to switch the two white wire connections, would that make a difference?

thanks for the help!

The CORRECT answers are: No and no.

The heater wires are NOT polarized. It doesn't matter (in terms of polarity) how you connect them.

Besiders, the P0136 code is not related to the heater circuit anyway, it is related to the sensor circuit itself.

I'd suspect a fault with the MIL eliminator (improperly installed or constructed, or defective) before anything else.

Thanks for the responses.

I do know that the last time I tried working on fixing it, I realized that the MIL was installed facing the wrong direction, so I swapped it around to the correct position... However, would this cause the resistor or capacitor to fail, having it installed incorrectly?

I made them myself a while ago, and transferred them from my Cougar to the CSVT, and mistakingly installed it backwards... OOPs!

Switch Bank 1 lower O2 sensor with Bank 2 and see if the get the other code. If you do, then you know it is the Mileliminator or the wiring connector for it.

It's definitely not the connector, because I cut it out completely, and I am using Posi-lock connectors now instead...
I can just make another MIL elim...I have extra parts lying around for them...

When you say stock, do you mean Ford or Bosch. The mileliminator instructions were for Ford or Bosch wires and colors on the wires. I updated the M&M how to for wire colors for the Denso O2 sensor.

This wiring color is for the stock Ford OEM or Bosch O2 sensor. Note that the Denso O2 sensor has Denso White for Ford Gray, Denso Blue for Ford Black, Denso Black for Ford White (two bottom wires in this diagram). Found that out today when I had to reinstall my Bank 2 lower O2 Sensor which broke at the tip when I ran over a big stone.
