I've owed 2 contours with my current being a SVT.....As much as i loved my 98 se my current SVT is awesome.I just love outperming more expensive cars on those curvy roads. But my SVT won't last Forever!!!!What do we do then???????I heard of a possible SVT Fusion in 2010???Is this true????Very hard to find American performance sedans in a 6cyl with a 5speed...I like the Fusion. The only thing missing is no 5 speed with 6cyl.But that would be a good canidate for a SVT experiment.

1998 se 6cyl MTX- your missed
1998.5 SVT-
2001 Jeep Wrangler:laugh:

well, just to offer my uninformed opinion i think its fairly well known that svt has pretty much been or is going to be dissolved both as a name and as a performance group...something like fpg (ford performance group) is going to be ford's next level of performance ... the fusion is a good candidate and it looks like it will be getting fords new ecoboost 3.5 maybe around the timeframe you mentioned

hopefully, ford sizes up the competition accurately and DOESNT bring the car out with a 250hp engine when the rivals will be even closer to 300 probably then that time

anyway, thats what i know or think i know....but i dont know  :o

I would have agreed with you a year ago. It seems that ford is going to pull back on the performance area now. IT seems they are going to dump alot of there new ideas. Because of gas going up according to blue oval news.

Be prepared to be paying 10-15 dollars a gallon by 2015. Thats just 7 years away.

Ford started pulling away from mass factory performance when they killed off SVT. And gas wont get that high unless our economy doesnt bounce back like expected. The rates in the rest of the world arent going up like ours so thats a sign the problem is on our end, not in the oil markets.

Its sad that svt has died. I would have really considered buying a svt fusion.. On the radio this past week the annalist are predicting that by next year we will be at $10.00 a gallon. I hope someone comes up with an answer for the gas problem soon..

This conversation has been talked about a so many times. The svt fusion won't be out anytime soon or never again.

If you think the increase of oil is only on our end....you need to do alot more research and take some time learning alot more about supply and demand my friend.

The world at that point will run short of oil. But i won't continue because there are too many factors as to why the prices are so high, other than because our dollar has lost its value.

I hope svt will be brought back at some point in time. We will have to wait and see what the world will be doing in the next few years. Our biggest competitors is what will set the mark for the return of svt. IMHO.

You mean the oil cartell called OPEC is artifically inflating prices? That would never happen! All they are doing is shooting themselves in the foot. You PO the U.S. we just find another way to get along without the product you are producing. Now if we can just get those hippies off the oil companies and let them build new refineries and drill in alaska we could reduce the cost of oil until we come up with other means of alternative fuel.

I'm currently doing research using nanostructures to produce hydrogen through the electrolysis of water. This could be used to power cars directly (BMW Hydrogen 7), or indirectly through the production of electricity (Ford HySeries). If it works out, I'll mention CEG in my Nobel Prize acceptance speach:laugh:

not to bring it off topic, but at a car show the other day...I saw a 06 mustang gt with the "SVT" emblem on the trunklid and the centercaps were "SVT"......is that a TRUE "svt" or just badgings....

Yes the price of oil is going up but you'll notice we're the only place the price is jumping dramatically and that our economy is sagging. The oil trade is generally done in US dollars which isnt a strong currency right now, hence the price swing on our end. Thats not to say the prices wont start jumping elsewhere but right now its mainly on our end because of our economy.

To get back on topic: Oh yeah, I wish there would be a SVT Fusion in the near future. My SVT has been delegated to a garage queen, so I could use a nice, new, sporty every day car.

I really like the MS6 and MS3 (I test drove the MS6 and was about $2k price difference away from buying it), but something about "SVT" just tickles my fancy. It seems a little more exclusive than Mazdaspeed at this point.

Well with SVT in the grave and Ford USA not too far behind it you may have to choose something else eventually. :(
