okay i have searched and can't seem to find anyone who has done this.
i have my entire interior striped out of my 98 svt (putting in cage and loosing weight) my wifes 96 se has interior that is trashed (warped dash, ripped seats,ect...) anyone done this swap with any luck?

i'm sure it'll all swap right over, since it's pretty much the same car except for things like bumpers and such. i've read that the dashes are pretty much all the same through the years (shape wise) and i don't think the doors changed

yea i check out that thread before i posted, he was swaping from one post 98 to another. i'm trying to take my svt interior into a pre 98. i guess i just gofor it and hope for the best. was just hoping that someone had already done it. thanks for the input guys

95pgt-t had an SVT interior in his 96SE...

IIRC he said it took him a full day to swap it over... But he told me this a couple years ago so that's probably not right...

Right but you run into the same problems when swapping from E1 to E0. The differences there should be nearly the same if not exactly the same as swapping into a pre98...Almost everything fits perfectly. I know I'm personally going to be putting in a 98+ dash bezel (with the vents and stuff), because the pre98 ones SUCK. This is going to require me extending/splicing wires for my defroster switch. This is just one example, as there are others.

cool. i expect small issues like that but if all the issues are like that this shouldn't be to bad

And as I said, from what I have read I think you will need to make one important cut due to the support bars, but I'm not sure about the details. Feel free to PM those guys as I'm sure they know those dashes like their own homes

well i just bought her the car about a month ago, everything on the car was in great shape except the interior was trashed

late to this thread :o

95pgt-t did exactly what you are looking to do. The SVT's interior was from an E0 (Mazdaspeed's old car) and he put it into a 96 SE.

I put an E0 interior into my 99. Turbo_fox took my 99 interior and put into his E0.
You will not have a support bracket problem. That bracket was added in 99.
The bracket in question is shown in the 4th picture in my topic. It sticks out from the support bar, near the driver's door.

The swap is time-consuming but not difficult ... well worth it. Not including that bracket, the biggest problem I had was removing the plastic screws that hold the scuff plates. Good luck :)
