I was standing next to my car today talking to me parents and I happen to look down at the drivers side rear wheel and I think to myself that training control arm is awful black so I stick my head under the rear bumper to see that I new control arm has been put on my car, wtf

all I can figure is that someone jacked the car up by the control arm and bent it pretty good ... as least it was replaced at no appearent cost to me but I wasn't even told about it ...

yeah...i would go down and ask them about it.
explain that you are not pissed but concerned that they fugged somehting up and diddnt tell you...then ask what else they fugged up and didnt tell you about!

that was my thought also ... at least they fixed it and didn't try to unload it on me .... but I figure that is what had to happen, the car was jacked up by the the rear control arm, I can't think of why else they would have replaced it ...

I also figure now I should get the car aligned again to to make sure all is right ...

Naw, I'd be pissed, pissed that they fugged something up and didn't tell me.
Had they called and told me what happened, I would've been  with it, things happen. But not telling you, that's a whole 'nother story.

I would go to the shop and speak with them.

They are going to get you new vent visors, aren't they?
I don't understand why they would have cut them to begin with.

i was going to make a fuss about it then I didn't as the important part was the paint and this was a small little think when compaired ... luckly I already had axtra ones ...

why did they cut em, someone must have broken one and was trying to cover it up ...

At least you have another set.
Things happen, but it would have be nice if they just told you.

as for an alignment, make them pay for it!

after driving the car I don' think that the alignment is off but I would feel better having it done ...

I can already tell what I am goign to get, prove we did it and we will pay for it ... as with the vent visors ...

:nonono: Where's a sense of honesty these days? It was probably an honest mistake on the shop's part, but still... :nonono:

Last summer, I dropped off my T-bird at a shop to get the timing set replaced. On the day I picked up the car, I left for a car club meeting in Wisconsin. I'm cruising along the Masspike and suddenly noticed that the Thunderbird emblem on my hood was starting to wobble at the stem. Went over a small bump and the emblem flew off. (Similar setup here: http://www.murrayco.com/1979_thunderbird_town_landau.html)

I think someone at the shop must've leaned on the emblem, broke it, then tried to -- get this -- GLUE IT BACK TOGETHER. Last I checked, a couple drops of glue ain't no match for the blazing August sun and a 60mph wind. Of course, I pull into the car show with just a stump of a hood emblem. The pisser is that, to date, I have not been able to locate a matching replacement.

I would not be a happy camper . They should have at least told you about it & owned-up to it , as they should have done with the ventvisors , IMHO .

And make sure to get an alignment (at another shop) and make them pay for it .
