Can anyone confirm what size hex/Allen is used for the SVT oil cooler?

It's been so long since I did my swap and I don't have anything that size. Some of the posts on here say 12 mm, 15, 17........

I looked all over for 15 mm and no one carries it locally. I'd have to order it online. 12 mm was easy enough to find locally though.

AutoZone and Advance Auto don't carry higher than 10 mm. I went to Sears Hardware and they have a 12 mm, 14 mm, 17mm, but no 15 mm. I don't want to make trips all over the place or order online and be stuck with the wrong size.

I'll try to find out from Greg though.

funny, when I installed mine I got a three peice allen wrench set from autozone that had a 12, 15 and 17 iirc ....

I was checking the old forums and there was one person who kept suggesting it's 15mm. And also there was a post from you Brian that says it was 15mm as well

ok, Greg thinks it a 1/2 which would be 12.7 mm ... and I do recal what ever metric allen wrench I used was alittle small ...

I went through the same dilemma when I pulled mine off. I ended up measuring the ID and ordering an allen socket from snapon... I couldn't find anyone local that carried it. That measured size was slightly too big, so I had to file a little off. When I get home, I'll see what size the socket is... the proper size will be the next size smaller.

Because of all the confusion over the years, I'm wondering if different years may have had different adapter threads..... with differing ID's.

Well I got it removed. I went with a 1/2 inch after reading the thread on NECO. It fit in exactly. Theres no way a 14+ mm would ever fit.
