Hey guys-this is my first contour. I'm reposting these pictures from the new member section. Enjoy!

More pictures from just a few minutes ago. These were taken with my cellphone as well.

This is my first MTX car, and it is an absolute blast to drive. I'm enjoying every second of it.

Fairly rare combination, fully loaded with T/C and MTX. Looking good!

Looks good.. Needs more engine bay cleaning tho

Yup. Interior is getting fully detailed, engine bay is getting cleaned up, wheels are getting polished, and the body is getting waxed with zaino :D Just picked up the car last weekend-I haven't had time to clean her up yet.

Damn that dash looked like my old dash. You definitly need a new one.

The rest of the car looks really good though.

Yeah, the dash is pretty :censored::censored::censored::censored:ty.

What am I looking at to replace it as far as work and money goes?
Labor - not too bad. Straightforward DIY, requires 2 people. Remove all front interior panels, console, seats help too. It takes some time though because you need to remove and reinstall everything. There are some small differences between years but nothing too excessive.

Cost can be cheap or expensive depending who you buy it from and if you need to ship it. If you buy from a 98-98.5 you'll also need the glovebox. I think maybe the HVAC piping too, I can't remember.

I did it recently. Some questions answered here. There's an instructions PDF floating around somewhere on the forums but I don't know where it is. We used the Ford CD.

Christ that looks complicated

I don't know if I'm up to doing something like that by myself.

I wouldn't say it requires 2 people, I did it by myself, seats don't have to be removed, only the steering wheel.

If you go post 98 to pre 98 (wich you should) you'll need the airbag cover, pasanger side venting, and vent, glove box, and the little kick panel under the steering wheel.

Its not really that hard of a job, just can't rush it or else you'll break things.

It really does make a world of difference.

Thanks Nezerconezer for clarifying. I found it helpful to remove the seats, It was convenient to lay on the floor to access the underside bolts.
We needed 2+ people primarily because the replacement dash was slightly bent and wouldn't fit straight without a lot of pushing. It was helpful with removal and fitment.

It's time consuming, but otherwise straightforward. Many people on CEG have done this.

I just reclined the seats all the way back and layed upside down.

Oh and before I forget, when going from post98 to pre there is a section of metal that needs to be cut out of the dash just to the right of the steering column hole. If thats not done there is a bracket that gets in the way that causes the dash to go in all bent. Or you could just saw off the bracket.......

Holy crap, I recognize that car! It was owned by a former member on here. Pole120 did the intake swap on it. Looks like it didn't end up too rough. Keep her in good shape.
