Brand New S-type 3L engine

Your not going to be able to make it work with the contour pcm. You would have to swap over the jag wiring harnesses and pcm.

Wouldn't you also need the dash and gauges from the JAG. Cause the pcm would have different outputs than the Ford PCM... I don't think any ammount of playing will allow you to use a ford pcm with a jag motor. Seems like it would be way more work than I'd want to put into a build for a 3L. Just to get it to work...

Last I checked the JAG, used a FORD, motor. It would only be feasible if you were able to swap PCM's like Jim said.

You guys are soooo negative.:nonono:
Anything can be made to work given enough time and ingenuity. Where's your can-do Yankee spirit? This could be an exciting project!
If all else fails, just put the Jag motor back together and list it on Ebay again!

I am all for trying stuff but I think this would cost more to make work then its worth ...

Well sort of. The Jag 3.0 is made in a Ford factory in the US and shipped to England. It is the same engine that is used in the Lincoln LS. The head design is like the Jag V8. The Lincoln LS is really a Jag S with different styling.

I would call it a Jag engine that also happens to be used by Lincoln that is made in a Ford plant.

Just becuase it COULD be done, doesnt mean it SHOULD be done. Not worth all the extra R&D, money, and headaches for a few extra hp when a taurus or escape 3.0L is basically a direct drop in.

no kidding, the extra power from the jag motor can be realized with extra work to the normal 3l, the work to get that jag motor working and the money, and the sure failure at first... forget about it.

u guys are pretty negative, i wish someone would try it, i would if i had the funds, or a spare svt to play with..lol. Just need to find the right formula and put the pieces together. The type s has alot of technical upgrades that the regular ole 3.0, it would be nice to have, to keep up with the newer cars.

were not negative, were just being practical. Its the same thing as doing a twin turbo kit for the contour instead of a single turbo. Why do a twin turbo kit when it makes no more power than a single turbo. Having a jag engine would simply be for the pimp factor just like a TT kit since 3.0L hybrids and full 3.0L swaps already make more hp than the Jag 3.0L.

Btw, Terry Haines tried to swap a full jag motor in Mikey!'s old 95 SE and after months and months and months, it was either decided the complexity of making the motor work was too complicated or the cost to make it work, was just too much for Mike to afford.

i see what ur saying, but practical is boring.. but the jag 3.0 has alot of extras in it, and is more advanced, so it wouldnt be totally useless, and it would be a one of a kind.
