OEM Keyless Entry System

im not really sure where to put this, so i figured here would be a good place to start.

ive heard keyless entry was an option on some contours. does anyone know where i can buy the OEM parts, besides the dealer?

i have keyless on my '95 se. I would go with an aftermarket one. They arent too pricey.

do you have a certain brand to recommend? and do you think i would be able to install it myself?

Get a simple cheap one from eBay. I even installed it by myself, very, very easy. Mine was $20 shipped. Just wire it up to the lock and unlock wires, and hook up power/ground. Then you add things on if you want them, like horn acknowledgment of lock/unlock, flashing parking lights, ignition cut-off, etc.

yup, i would also go with a ebay cheapo if i didn't already have it. As long as you can read directions you can install a keyless entry no problem.

The hardest part is pulling back the carpet, and using a circuit tester to find out which wire is for the locks. There's a how-to on the main site. http://contour.org/mods/mods.php?s=howto&displayid=12 Those quick splice things make things go about 400 times faster.

thanks guys. i bought an OEM looking one on ebay for $40 and am going to attempt to install it myself.

Bulldog brand is the best, also car and driver has a set that is produced by bulldog.
