Ok first, just had my alpine cd player stolen yesterday. Anyways, onto the troubleshooting. The intelligent thief decided it was easier for him to cut the wires AFTER the stock harness instead of unplugging the adapter... which kind of leaves me in a conundrum. I bought the reverse harness to act as my new stock harness, however they use the new.. well standard color codes and they don't match up, so i don't know which to match up. Anyways i was hoping some of you folks could help me out. My car is a 1998 Ford Contour LX.
The colors that are coming out of my dash where my HU used to be are as follows:

Orange w/ Black Stripe

White
White w/ Black Stripe
White w/ Red Stripe
White w/ Purple Stripe

Brown
Brown w/ White Stripe
Brown w/ Yellow Stripe
Brown w/ Red Stripe

Blue w/ Red Stripe
Blue w/ Black Stripe

White w/ Green Stripe

2 Wires with black and green stripes?

Thank you very much, I'd appreciate greatly. It is so awkward trying to push the buttons to change the station/song/volume with nothing there. Plus the silence is killing me!

Speakers, from 1995 service manual (if you study the list and diagram, Corrected mistakes):

White RR+
Brown RR-
White w/ Purple Stripe LR+
Brown w/ White Stripe LR-
White w/ Black Stripe LF+
Brown w/ Yellow Stripe LF-
White w/ Red Stripe RF+
Brown w/ Red Stripe RF-

Power (verify with Meter)

Orange w/ Black Stripe 12 volts constant=Yellow on new harness

Blue w/ Red Stripe Antenna trigger=Blue on new harness
Blue w/ Black Stripe 12 Volts switched by key=Red on new harness

White w/ Green Stripe Dimmer (Orange wire of harness)

2 Wires with black and green stripes (check with Meter) Ground=Black on Harness

Glad to help, I corrected my post

Take another look at the speaker polarity chart, I fixed it. You could test it with the assembled harness. See if the "Left front" wires really go to the left front by using a AA battery to click the speaker, repeat with all 4 pairs.

Hey thanks worked out great, all the speaker color codes you gave me worked like a charm. Had some issues with the power, but they were resolved with the multimeter. Orange w/ black is something weird, had .4V on it whether car was started or not. Blue /w black stripe was indeed 12V switch. Thanks a million its awful having nothing to listen to in the car!
