hard upper coolant hose?

the upper is supposed to be hard to prevent it from collasing on itself...you would replace it when it gets soft and squishy...i supposed if it gets rock hard once it reaches operating temp the that might be a sign of a thermostat not opening...does the temp get higher than normal? is it hard when hot or cold, all the time?

you're going about this all wrong.

It gets hard BECAUSE you're squeezing on it.. isn't that NORMAL??
:D :D :D

lol..i tried to keep any words that might give someone the opport. to make a comment like that:laugh: i guess it didnt work. its firm when the car is hot..and yes,its up around the A.

your res cap is not holding correct pressure you should be able to sqeeze the top hose but it should be firm... no pun intended.... your res cap is holding too much pressure in the cooling system and if that continues you are running the risk of overheat or spitting all your coolant out the overflow or ...... worst case your may have hair line crack in one of the head gaskets to were its allowing the pressure from a cycl. to enter your cooling system, but usually in that case you would run out of coolant in about 45miles and the motor would overheat. I best beat is get a new cap and maybe if possible test your cooling system for the pressure its holding.

well, this is on the 95 i just bought. it has a tank w/no overflow hose, and a dif. cap than any v6 tour i've owned. it's not spring loaded like on my svt:shrug:
