how can i test to see if the imrc is opening up the secondarys? i just dont know when driving it. i may have gotten used to it opening. you know how you get a car its quik and before long it just dosnt feel quik anymore.

I can hear the change in exhaust note when mine open up... Right around 3800 rpm... goes from grrrrrr to groooowwwwwwllllll...

hahahaha. so im guessing im just used to the sound and kick the car gives. but is there anyway to test for sure?

Run the KOEO test with a scan tool. The IMRC gets checked for proper operation.

If you rev the engine from under the hood to the throttle body you should see under the mechanism moving to open the secondaries when it goes past 4000rpm

While you're looking under there, check to make sure the linkage is secure. I've read of many cases where one bank is no longer connected and functioning.
