the other day I took the SeVT out for a drive and when I reached my destination I had coolant leaking from the upper radiator hose at the head water cross over tube. It was dripping pretty consistantly. When I got the car back to where I keep it the coolant leak had stopped.

All I can note is that the water temp was consistant on the higway at 190~195. When it was leaking I had been on local roads for awhile and in some stop and go traffic. I don't recall the exect temp but it was up higher over 200 degrees. The fans are working normally.

It only seems to leak when the water temp goes up. Could this be because of a blockage in the radiator or the radiator now flowing enough? what else could cause the hose to leak only when really hot?

hose is used but newer and the clamp is original to my car, so I know it could be the clamp has stretched out some.

This would be my guess. Whenever I change any hoses, I put new worm clamps as replacements. The high temperature increases the pressure, causing the leak (you know that!)

yes I do, just wanted to make sure there wasn't anything else to worry about. Well I suppose I will just add a worm clamp and see what it does.

well I slide the factory clamps out some and added worn clamps on the upper radiator hose at the engine end and it seems better. The temp didn't go up as high as when it last leaked but it was up to 212 F and I didn't observe any thing leaking. In fact the dampness under these two locations went away. so I think it was a combination of old clamps and a used hose.

I think I'm having this same problem right now. The car started leaking coolant today fairly bad from somewhere under the intake tube (it's dark and I can't really see right now). It's not leaking fast enough to cause a temp difference (the gauge still hangs between N and O), but you can definitely smell it and see a good bit of steam. I popped the hood tonight to find coolant all around the intake area, and when I squeeze the upper radiator hose I can hear a spewing sound coming from somewhere under the intake. Ahh...gotta love workin' on Fords.
