I briefly heard something on the radio this AM about an accident at Amhurst and someone falling to their death. Does anyone else know any more about this?
 
AMHERST - A University of Massachusetts student who fell to his death early this morning from the 17th floor of a residence hall in the Southwest residential area of the campus has been identified Liam O'Donnelly, 20, of Hingham.

UMass Amherst Police responded to a report of someone jumping from the John Quincy Adams residence hall about 3:30 a.m., said Edward Blaguszewski, campus spokesman.

The case is under investigation by the state police assigned to the Northwestern district attorney's office, who have jurisdiction over unattended deaths and the UMass Amherst Police.

O'Donnelly was a second year student.

"This is a difficult time for the campus community," Blaguszewski . "Our sincere condolences go out to Liam's family and friends."

thats gotta hurt... i wonder how many feet that is. i was watching something on the golden gate bridge and people have jump off and lived.. not sure how. no sure how but isnt that almost 300 ft?
 
I live there! Right near the building.

He jumped/fell off the 17th floor of one of the towers in the SouthWest residential area.

I didn't get up until about 8. By then everything had been cleaned up. When I went to lunch at around 11, I did see a black latex glove on the ground outside the building... kinda weird. Don't know if it was related, but odds are that it was.

Those are the five residential towers. One is hidden behind JQA(JQA is the one he fell/jumped from). JQA is the one second from the right. They are all 22 floors. Now imagine falling from the 17th... not likely you will survive.
 
what did the sidewalk say to the face?.....SPLAT!!!!:laugh: ....sorry more of my sick EMT sense of humor:shrug:
