Turn Signals... and Defrost Motor

So my defrost is not working at all in my car... in fact the whole airs system isnt..... so i checked the fuse under the drivers side and they were fine... also my turn signals dont work either now... the emergency ones work and the head lights do too. so any ideas?

Sounds like your timer is dead. I forget what the actual name for it is. Does your delay wiper work?

Fuse 23 in the fuse box in the car. I can almost guarantee it's the problem. I had the exact same problem and spent 2 days trying to figure it out.

If you look in your user manual it says it has nothing to do with turn signals, but trust me...

For the heater blower motor, check Fuse 37. Other causes could be wiring, blower fan switch or blower motor.

Turn on the headlights, walk to the back of the car. Are the rear lights on? Are the instrument panel lights on? If the answer is "no" to both, your headlamp switch is broken. There is a recall on that but if the recall has been completed on your vehicle, just pick up the switch and connector kit from Ford and change it yourself.]

I just picked up another tour 99 svt about a month ago: The same thing so the dealership and garage couldnt figure it out four 2 hrs finally I said hell with it I'll take the car the way it is so knock off 500.00 bucks they did, signed all the papers and as the salesman and 2 mechanics stand there I popped the back up light fuse from under the glove box and it was blown looked at they and laughed. said thanks guys for the discount and popped in a new fuse. they were dumb founded.... moral of the story
the defroster motor is blowning the fuse: your turnsignals/backup lights and heater control panel are all run through the one fuse labeled back up lights. the dealership even tried changing the turnsignal switch and boy did they look upset when this backyard machanic showed them up. : )

Ok Fuse 23 ill check and fuse 37 ill check... also i turned my lights on and they all work.. also the emergancy flashers work and the head lights... so it just the turn signals... ...another thing ... about the contour you bought and they couldnt figure it out... what fuse was that?

You have all the same symptoms I had with Fuse 23. All the lights worked, the 4 ways worked, just not the blower or the turn signals.
