AHEM!
You may have noticed my post previously, stated, "HELP A NEW GUY!"
I needed help in installing an intake, my first mod.
I would like to say that with your help, i have accomplished this goal. Here are the pics.

this is before....

this is when i thought i was done... but not yet....

this is the finish.... did i mess up anywhere? Is there anything that i did wrong? If there is, i would like to know.....
btw, is the filter supposed to be resting on my car like that? Or is it supposed to be lifted?

good clean install. looks right to me. u're better off getting a heatshield. when the motor gets hot, it sucks in the hot air, hurting performance. heatshields are cheap too. as for the filter resting on the car, the other end should be in the snorkel, in the fender. or isn't it long enough?

My intake looks like yours, and rests on the car. Been like that for years, no problems. Sure does sound good :)

do we have any dyno tests to back that up on our
No talking about performance, quality. that "filter" hardly filters anything. the piping size is smaller than the TB.

but w/e i wasn't trying to be a jerk or anything.

*EDIT*

Actually its prolly better than the stock box, that thing is a POS

actually,on the se's the pipe size match's,and some ebay pipes are 3",which is the same size as my 65mm tb. your right though, the filter is junk. get a aem dryflow

The SE's do not have a circle snorkel in the fender, it's more of a...rectangular circle... but it might not hurt just having the piece right there too.

KKM flows plenty for a 3L

Looks good, get a K&N and a heat shield.

I had a KKM and never had issues, though I distinctly remember atleast one person saying theirs wasn't good enough (said it started to implode... might have been an exaggeration).

actually I recently took the SVT fender duct out and feel the car performs better without it installed ...

I need to get an intake pipe myself, not enough grunt to the stock accordion tube :D

Theres no sound change, just looks all purty purty with a new pipe.

At least mine didn't change the sound anyways.

I figured it should sound louder, when I put a pipe on my zetec going from the rubber tube with a K&N to a metal pipe with a K&N, made worlds of difference, WAY louder, the accordian tube is designed to quiet down the sound of the motor, why else do you think they "ripple" the rubber? for looks?
