I recently purchased the K&N intake from NPG, i understand that the installation requires some cutting to remove the stock intake duck. but will i also have to remove the front bumper to mount on the air filter.

yep. thats where it's gonna sit. down there in the bumper. the screws are right above the pipe in the picture. once you take your wheel well linings off, you'll def see the screws.

Yes you have too, I bought one of these awhile ago but never installed it, pm joey for the install guide. It's very well written out and pretty basic you will see why you need to take off the bumper in there. Also the cutting isn't very hard either

Thanks for the help, Joey did send me the install guide but for some reason it's not opening on my gf's computer ill take a look when i get home.

since this topic is up, i feel dumb for asking this too.

will bare steel rust on the inside? as i would paint the outside. thanks

Another question while on subject. How do you remove the fuse box in a 2000 SVT to get the air ram out? I can't figure it out. I don't have the single bolt at the top of it like older years do.

if its the same as my 99 i used extensions to get at the bolts that are under the fuse box. like the bolt head is right under it. not bolted from under the car. i cant remember exactly how i removed the snorkel. i think i just had to reach really far under the loose fuse box with my torx driver. a torx bit in a ratchet and extensions would be best. of course i have them now but didn't back then. hope this helps. also the fuse box unclips from the bottom half. thats not fun to do. I'm sure i just choose the hard way.

There's a tab on the backside (towards the firewall) of the fusebox. Push it down and the fusebox pivots out. The snorkel is mounted with 2 or 3 torx bolts.

A customer that we are building a cougar for picked one of these up. It would be nice if some instructions were included or a PDF on the site we could access. I understand it isn't rocket science but a picture of the tube going through the fender would help. Has anyone installed this on a Cougar? The fender attachment is different and I'm not sure if it's possible without cutting out all of the fender attachment points in the front.
