Took some pictures of the beater to show my appreciation since it never let me down through out this mess of a winter we had.

that was the primary competitor to the contour SVT back in the day, really shows too since the ground effects package was so similar to the SVT's

M Sport 318? Nice! AWD?

Yeah, it is the rare M models, where you get special sport interior, red stitching everywhere, lsd, sport wheels, m suspension etc... Unfortunately it is RWD, like every good winter car should be. Seriously, I think rwd, heated seats and lsd is the best combo for winter... Oh yeah and dont' forget some very good winter tires, so long as the snow is not touching the underbody, you dont' ever get stuck.

He must have mispelled Beamer. The M is nowhere near the T. Just a mistake!

Lol, unfortunately it wasn't a typo.

it's to bad the M division never made a REAL 318 M....the engine is kinda weak in those car's:shrug:

To be honest, I donno if you realise what you are talking about. But during the development of the 318ti M sport, the BMW M division was more involved with this car then building the US Spec E36 M3. Go figure  Obviously it is no M3 and I'd take an E36 M3 over this anyday, but it is just one of those funny facts.

Specially, this being a contour forum, you should know better, sheer power isn't always the recepie for a roadcar.

It is a 1.9L M44 engine in there, and to be honest as a car that is going to be driven everyday, you don't need any more power then this, it gets over 30mpg on combined city and highway driving. It's got a pretty good chassis and handling, so if you ever want to jump on a track and have some fun, you can and it is damn fun to drive... Drag racing, I don't think so, since it probably does the 1/4 in mid 16 seconds or so...
