Car Won't Spark

i have a 98 csvt and i had to remove the engine and take the heads off to replace a broken valve!! well i put the engine back in and put everything back where it went but i still dont have any spark! I have checked my grounds but i have one that im not sure is a ground it has to round silver tabs that look like they would be grounds but im not sure. if someone could pm me and tell me where all the grounds are or show some pics also i need a pic to know what the coil pack ground looks like!! I also have to grounds that hook together one of them leads straight to the negative battery terminal and im not sure if anything else is supposed to be hooked up to those!!

i also was having a problem with the starter. it kept locking up and would stay engaged!!! so i took it out and went and got a new starter and not its locking up too!! does anyone know anything about this and what could cause my starter to keep locking up?? thanks

Is the ignition key turning all the way back to the run position when released? It sounds like the starter remains energized and is not returning. Have you tried to manually turn the key to run from start? When you turn the ignition completely off does the starter gear retract on its own or do you have to physically remove the starter to retract the gear? Was either starter bench tested prior to replacement or installation? Just some questions that may shake out some answers. Dan

to answer your question about the coil pack ground, basically its a little silver ring (attached to a wire) that gets screwed in between the engine/coil pack (kinda like a washer).

hey man the key turns over just like it normally would but the car just makes a sudden "clunk!" I tested the starter before installation and it was perfect. All my wires are hooked up right too! What does the coil pack ground look like? I mean the wire? because i have one coming off of my egr that i have in between two lock nuts on my valve cover!?

"CLUNK" - does the engine rotate when you press the starter? If it doesn;t it;s no wonder you don't have a spark.. sounds like the engine is locked up. not the starter..

yea im not an idiot!! if you roll the car in fifth gear the starter would unlock! and then it would try to start!! and im getting good compression when the starter tries to start but it feels like there isnt enough power going to the starter to start the car! i just went and messed with it and i accidently broke what looked like a ground it was a grey mesh like wire coming off of the egr valve thats on the rear exhaust manifold! does anyone know where that wire went?
