I'm going to rallycross my contour for the first time on 4/13, and would like any useable input for setup. I searched all over the internet for the stage rally team that used the last gen cougar and could find nothing. That would probabley be my ultimate source for setup info. Does anyone here know about it? Right now my setup is perfectly fine to compete in a rallycross. I am using koni's with custom springs on ground controls. At the lowest point i have 6 inches of clearence at the bodywork. This thing is jacked up! I also removed the front swaybar and i'm conemplating doing the same in the rear. I am running hankook 204 rally tires, size 190/615. Lastly my car has been on a serious diet. I haven't weighed it yet, but i guesstimate it's at least 250 lbs lighter than stock. My battery is in the trunk and i removed the ac to balance the huge amount of weight lost from the rear of the car. I'm just unsure if there's any weak points or anything else that i should address before the 13th.

replace the weak stamped steal rear toe control arms with a set of tubular steel adjustable ones. at the very least i would also put in a roll bar with integrated harness bar, otherwise do a full cage. if you have the camber kit on the car, remove it or you will almost deffinitely break the front struts at the top. setup an in-car camera so you can post the video for us.

I have the dom tubing, tube bender, and a decient welder for the cage and harness bar. I won't have it in by the 13th. Also the rules on cages changed this year, so i'll have to look in the rule book to see what needs to be added now. I know the main hoop has to be crossed up and the A pillar supports are manditory now. I'm not sure if there's anything else. Luckily btcc cars have fia spec cages in them and i can use a lot of interior photos to design my cage. I'm going to run the stock rear links this event, but i'll fab somthing by the next one. As for the video. I'll have inside and outside video edited and poseted on the 14th. There will be pics too.

you live in tampa, where are you going for a rally?
For you production in your signature:
Q: How do I get my production number / SVT certificate?
A: You need the last 6 digits of your VIN# and call 1-800-FORD-SVT. It will cost ~$20-30 to get the certificate.

just interested:cool:

The rally is at east bay raceway. For information you can go to tampa rally. You can register at myautoevents.com. Also, tampa racing has all the motorsport events listed there. As for my production number, i don't really need to know.putting down #I dunno is just my way of being silly. I knew how to find it out. It's just that mine is a budget race car, so 20-30 dollars needs to go to the car instead. And when i'm racing it it will always be #101.

it doesnt cost you anything to get the production number, only if you want the certificate as well. just call them up, give them your VIN, and they will tell you the number over the phone.

Ooooh. Its free if you just want the number. That I diddn't know. I'll be making a call on Monday now. Thanks.
