So I just started noticing recently that even if the system is turned off my vents still blow out air, I don't think this is normal as I don't remember it....any ideas on what is going on would be appreciated, thanks

If you are saying that the engine is not running but the ignition is turned to "ON", then yes, the blower should still work.

If you are saying the key is out of the ignition in the "off" position and the blower is still on, then, no, there is a problem with the wiring. Chances are the blower switch has a wire with a cross connection to the cigar lighter wiring (or any of the accessories which can come on without the key; lights, hazard switch, clock, horn)

Hey Tony, Sorry for the confusion...no what I am trying to say is that when I have the HVAC knob turned to the "off" position air still blows out of the vents.

If the airflow is continuing with the vehicle stopped, then there is a problem. If you're noticing this only while moving, that is a result of the car's motion causing the air to flow through the system.

 i always thought it was normal to have SOME sort of airflow while the car was moving......

....however, if it is turned to off and there is a lot of air coming through it, the blower is not turning off (and you should be able to hear this), or the vent is not closing when it is turned to off.

Post exactly which one.

If it is the former, you have an issue with the switch or the wiring.
If it is the latter, you have an issue with the switch or the vacuum dashpot not closing the vent.

And you'll know if the vacuum relay behind the radio has sh*t the bed if your HVAC defaults to defrost regardless of the blend door selection you've made on the panel.
