Basically it poped on right after we put the car together.

P0401 - Insufficient Flow from EGR valve
P0402 - Excessive Flow from EGR at idle

I did a search, but never found the two in conjunction, my first impression was to clean the EGR passageways, But when we were putting the car back together, I noticed that the TB was recently optimized and as clean as a whistle, so it cant be the EGR passageways, am I looking at an EGR valve replacement? Is there anything else I can do to test if I forgot to reconnect something when were putting the motor in? I just cleared the codes and drove like 5 miles and the CEL hasnt come back on, but that basically means nothing at this point.

What seems crazy to me is that it say insufficient as well as excessive at the same time. See if the CEL comes back and let us know!

Well as aliasjerk's codes say:

insufficient flow at idle - issue one

excessive flow (most likely at a time that the car is not at idle) - issue two

I would trace the green vacuum line off the EGR to the black thing(I still have no idea what it's called and I have ziplock bags labeled "black thing" to prove it) attached to the back of the UIM next to the IAC. A broken line could be the cause of the issue.

My insufficient EGR flow ( or was it excessive? ) code took two days of off and on driving to appear.

just becuase the tb is clean doesn't mean the egr passages are clean, nor sealed correctly by the tb ...

the P0402 is typically the DPFE sesnor. also check the operation of the egr valve ... and the hoses connected to the DPFE ...

suck test the EGR, and inspect your vacuum lines, as well as the mating surface for the TB/UIM, etc

im betting the EGR valve itself is stuck. you should have zero flow at idle so any flow at all means the valve is likely stuck open. a stuck valve would also give you the insufficient flow at cruise cause it cant open the valve enough since its stuck. surely Reebs or Bagged has an extra working one that you could swap over to test it.

Dang it man, you beat me to it on the suck test. And if I remember right the EGR is a cheap part, so just go buy a new one. Easy to replace as well. Just make sure you have two big enough wrenches.

that's okay.. you can have it.. here: you officially are the sucker, now.

There you go.. is that what you wanted?
