Well after I put the new TPS on my car after getting the trans in, the car seems to idle at 1100 RPMS (according to my window switch for nitrous). Also, the car seems to have some massive throttle hang going on when I drive it. So I took it in my garage and took the cap out and put one with a smaller hole in it. Reset the computer. Nothing changed. Put the old one back in, reset the computer. Pulled the IAC off, and put another one I had on laying around in. Started the car, and it idled at 1100 still. Gave it some gas and it hanged around 2500 then set back down to 1100 after 7 seconds. I pulled the connector off the IAC, and the car did not seem to hang at all. It revved fine. No hanging, but the idle was still at 1100. Any thoughts on this? Vac leak? Bad IAC's? I checked all the vac lines to make sure they were on, and sprayed some carb cleaner around. Nothing. Im so lost!
Since the winter, I added a opted mustang tb (with the stang/svt gasket), and I gasket matched the upper to the lower. Think the tune doesn't like these?
EDIT: Another thing, my wideband is showing that my idle is around 16.5. Dunno if that makes a diff or not.

I had a similar (though definitely not the same) problem and it turned out to be the pcv valve. You can test it by blocking the hose into the intake.

Just for kicks... try changing out your coil pack.. I know it doesn't sound like it would make any sense... but if you have one around... try it...

Will try both ideas on friday. I will post results. Another thing, does it take time for the computer to adapt to these things after the car has not been ran for 2 months? Just curious if the car has to get used to everything again.

If you made changes, particularly with the pcv trick, I would reset the pcm (fuses 4 and 11 on the newer tours, can't remember the fuses for the older ones) to be on the safe side. It never hurts.

I do remember reading somewhere (think its in the owners manual) that the car does in some cases have to re-learn the idle, which it does on its own at start up. I think it said at startup let the car run for 1-5 minutes w/o touching the gas or anything until the idle is stable. This seems too simple for what your symptoms are though.

Well I took your suggestion and put a OEM ford PCV on that I had laying around. I thought it was weird, but it fixed it (at least for the 2 miles that I drove on it). Weird, but thank you :)

Glad to hear it. I was surprised it could make so much difference as well. I hope it holds.

Mine for some reason wants to idle at 1100 with a copper cap in no matter what size hole is in it. As soon as I remove the cap, it's back to 750 rpm.
