paint xm antennae?

I don't know why it wouldn't be POSSIBLE, but I'd be wary of metallic paint colors, as the metal content might affect reception. Best bet would be call the satellite antenna manufacturer.

Do you really need to blend your antenna that bad with the color of your car?? I would advise against it, but I would think a light coat of paint wouldn't be that big of a deal. Like the guy before said, call up the manufacturer, but I'm sure they'll say something about not painting it.... Guess your only option will be to try it and see what happens....

i dunno about the ones that are sold in the stores...but any car that comes with an xm/sirius antenna from the factory has it painted, or atleast whatevers covering it.

just to clearify your last statement isnt completly true, i work for Chrysler and none of the Dodge, Jeep or Chrysler vehicles are painted, not that i seen anyway, i also seen the new cobalts, also not painted. very opinonated statement here, sirius programming is WAYYYY better.

honestly what I really like is the Focus like antenna sticking out from the roof on the back instead of the ones we have. I believe the euro mondeos have that and personally I think thats hott!! If I ever got my car re-painted, I'd shave the stock antenna area off and get the euro antenna and put it on the roof..

relocate your current power antenna, I'm sure with all the projects you've done it'd be no problem to relocate a focus style antenna and mount it either in the front or in the back like toyota and vw does it. ALl you really need to do is have metal wiring touch your old antenna base and then run the cable through the trunk behind the seats and under the headliner, if you feel confident drill a small hole on your roof and run the wire to the antenna and bolt it on solid. Apply gaskets, silicone w/e and no leaks either. It should work in theory.
