So I got this code last week, and it hasn't gone away. Today BrApple helped by doing some data logging, but it didn't really get us too far. The MAF is working properly; we eliminated that by running the car with it disconnected. The O2 sensors are both working properly. Upstream was switching properly, and downstream was hovering right where it needed to. The supposed problem lies with the long-term fuel trim. The short-term fuel trim was reading appropriately, but the long-term fuel trim was pegged at -24.2 . We're not quite sure what's causing this so maybe someone else on CEG has some insight

TIA

well the short term fuel trim stayed around zero but it would change when we gave it gas. when we rev'd the enigne up the long term trim did come up and pst zero but went right back to being pegged at negative 24.

The idle seemed fine, it wasn't hunting for idle nor was it stalling out. however if you jab the throttle fast it will almost stall out.

the O2 sensor was cyclic as it should be and the monitoring sensor was good from what I have seen before with my cars.

also an oddity, getting on the highway zorrex was infront of me and I saw a puff of white smoke come out the exhaust ... pretty sure it only did it that one time that I saw.

However, I would like to make note that the gas pedal was at the floor .

I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but if I go for some spirited driving, running at WOT, and then I need to slow down or come to a stop, the car will want to stall, but after about 10 secs it will recover and idle normally . I'm not quite sure what causes this, and I can't remember when this started to be honest.

sounds like we need to check the IAC as suggested .... migt explain why when you give it a very light blip on gas it hesitates for a second then the rpms will increase ...

Hmm, the IAC is located on the driver's side of the intake manifold, under the air plenum, right? I wonder if this could be part of the problem with Lindsey's car :ponder:

Update: Was rummaging through the engine bay earlier and found that my breather hose was dislodged at the valve cover, letting in a significant amount of unmetered air. The idle came down quicker after startup after resecuring a new breather hose. I tried flooring the gas pedal, and the car didn't try to stall out at ALL, so hopefully that was all that was wrong .
