So this may be a scam, but i was tooling around ebay and found a more powerful or quicker fuel regulator. Could this be true....more power from a better fuel regulator?

Tt's Garbage.

The only fuel adjustment you must need to make, is either threw the maf or pcm.

Maf is not highly recomended due to the maf is being tricked to making the engine need more fuel.

Or which many do to add fuel, Get a tune.

Or just get a Apexi S-AFC to do exactly what your are trying to do. That's what I did and I'm going to take it to the dyno and have it tuned for optimize the performance of the car.

Generally speaking there are better ways to enhance tuning than to just turn up the fuel pressure. Turning up the fuel pressure will make the engine run richer under nearly all conditions. Usually you only want to richen things up if the engine needs it and even then only under certain driving modes.

Both the Apexi SAFC and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator are hack tuning bandaids. Plus, on an adaptive engine control unit like the EEC-V they are only marginally effective because the engine will eventually adjust fuel trims around them negating a decent bit of what you have changed.

The right way is, like Harrry said, through retuning the PCM to what you actually need for fuel delivery.

OK, so give me some advice on what i should do next. I just bought a jet chip, have a 75mm MAF, intake, high flow resonaor and i'm looking to get the precats out. What direction should i go in now. I don't know of any tuning shops around that will tune my car. Thanks for your posts and all your help.

well i guess i should ask before i get it in, Am i going to have problems with my jet chip? I'm asking because i had a terrible time with a superchip. Firstly i had to send my whole ecu unit to get it soldered in by superchips, then when i got it back..it ran horribly. Then the soldering came undone!

I don't want to be rude. The standard chips you order online such as superchips, diablo chips, jet chips that comes for your application (computer code), have yet to show much gains. Maybe 1-2hp and tq. I recommend if you want too, get a custom tune for your car.

At locations such as brenspeed, or ADC.

Or you can go to a dyno location to have custom burn for your sepcific car. This way, it is way more promising on the tuner to get the max hp & tq they can get from your contour.

Not completely true. The stock ECU will only be adjusting the fuel curves during non-WOT conditions. During WOT the ECU refers to a preset fuel curve and does not adjust it. The Apexi S-AFC is very effective when used for WOT because it over rides the ECU's preset fuel curve, which is a general and very conservative curve.

However with that said if you are using the Apexi S-AFC with hopes to tune your car through out all throttle positions you will not be successful because as you said
the engine will eventually adjust fuel trims around them

The Apexi S-AFC will successfully tune your car at WOT when used properly.

Um, last time I checked, street cars get driven at all throttle positions at various times. Just because there is one condition where it will physically function doesn't mean it isn't a hack fix. Its designed to provide incorrect information to the ECU, which affects load calculations as well.

The bottom line is, just becasue some people can get away with using it, doesn't means its good or right.
