While in Dallas this weekend visiting family I went out to play a round of golf with my dad. When leaving he asked me if I would mind him driving my car. I figured that it would be ok after making sure that he realizes it is a little bit lower than his Highlander. While on our way to the course he said "its been a long time since I've enjoyed driving a car...thanks". That had to be one of the best complements that I have ever received on the contour.

No, I did not get the car from him. I bought it when my wife became pregnant so that I would have a reasonable four door car. He is a huge muscle car fan and so it came as a bit of a surprise that he liked the contour so much. However, he has not driven my barracuda yet...

My dad loves to drive my car too, but he hates the stiff ride of my konis with ground controls turned stiff! :) ... Still need to install my Aussie rear sway bar that has been sitting in my trunk! :bah:

My dad loves driving my car to. He is not the most gentle driver when it comes to things like the clutch and CV joints etc, so he's not allowed to drive it anymore.

His first comment was after taking off aggressively from a set of lights, and glancing in the rear view mirror was 'It leaves a gap, doesnt it?'

He had a big dirty grin on his face.

Best complement I ever got...

I have a friend that drives a 93 Civic EX ATX with a Turbo. He had never ridden in my car before. Well I told him I was going out to look at a car for sale and he wanted to go with me. So I took him along, this is a guy thats always been a big honda guy. Loves Anything Honda. He was like "this is a pretty nice car, I am impressed with Ford on this one... Is it pretty quick?" I took a quick look at him, light turned green. Launched the car at 4 grand and redlined it in 1st 2nd and 3rd gear... My car was lightly modded, intake and exhaust.

"Damn" is all I got out of him.

But that wasnt a rareity, every time I would meet people places everybody always volunteered my car to pile into. Everybody loved that car.

Makes me miss it even more :( thats ok though, ive got something in mind I and my friends will love even more :D

Must have been one fast Zetec! :)

I got a lot...." what is that noise from your car"

I had some guy at a Wendy's drive-through window ask me that once when my car was moosing really badly. :help: And it was squeaking big-time yesterday when we went out for lunch, but that's probably because I had an extra 400lbs of passengers in there.
