Im looking to lower my svt and im wondering what a good spring is and where to order from?I cant seem to find any used ones or anything on ebay.If anyone can point me in right direction or have any for sale that would be great.

thanks

dude. search.

Eibach
BAT
H&R
Koni
Roush (rare)
Ebay (cheep)

best bet for what ive seen is the BAT kit, which is about $600 new for springs and struts.

look at the BAT kit(http://batinc.net), i think shox.com had a few good deals on lowering springs. just look around and watch the classifieds if you want something used.

Eibach springs are exceptional. If I hadn't been able to find my Roush set, I would have definitely gone with those.

When ordering from BAT, you can actually get the BAT struts with Eibach springs. This is what my car set up for.

So...would it be possible to run Eibachs on stock SVT struts? The BAT kit is only barely an inch shorter from my understanding.

ooooh i didnt know bat can get you eibachs!!!! i definetly have to get that because the BAT kit really isnt that much lower barely an inch i believe, but thats why people love the ride, the lower you go the worse the ride.

and the ebay springs, ive heard good things from the people that have them on an exception of rust, in the winter you have to douse them in pb blaster to change the height, and the rides not that good either, but if you want springs for $60 or whatever it is, you shouldnt care about the ride.

anyone order from shox????????? I was thinking about ordering the bg springs but not sure of good place to order. They have them for 189.

Search for threads from last year in the GB forum. There should be one in there for a B&G w/Koni struts (if you're going that route) group buy price from a guy @ Shox.com. Last I heard they will still honor the GB prices.

I know of at least one person running stock SVT struts with Eibach Springs. The stock struts tend to just not last as long because you're only using a small range of them when you have lowering springs.

And there is a sticky in this forum with information on most of the spring/strut combos.

the eibachs fit perfectly fine on stock SVT struts, but be prepared to have to replace the struts not too long after depending on the mileage already on them. they should be replaced somewhere between 90-100k regardless, but the lower springs will cause them to wear faster... as for other springs, i have H&Rs on mine and i cant complain. it handles just as good if not better than the eibachs (plus i have bilstein struts that help), but they dont lower like the eibachs do.. its all depends on your personal opinion. everybody on here will tell you something different about each kit and how its better than the last. ide say that mostly anything from koni, eibach, H&R, BAT, roush, intrax, and the big name companies are worthy. imo, i wouldnt go with the ebay springs though..

Yeah, that's what I figured. I've got 89,965 miles on the car right now, but they are mostly all highway, so they still seem to be in pretty good shape. I wouldn't want to purposely ruin them like that. The back clunks a little, but i understand that that is either the e-brake lines or sway bar bushings most likely. Let's just say that it doesn't bother me bad enough to crawl through the snow when it's 10 degrees outside to look at it. I'd like to salvage the stock equipment just to have the ability to put it back to stock someday if I wanted to.

I ran my 03 Silverado with the back leveled (lowered 2") for 3 years and it didn't wear those shocks out. I think that I'm looking for a complete package when I do my suspension, like the BAT kit though. I won't be doing any ebay deals, unless it's Eibachs on ebay...

idk, that clunking noise could be the rear struts going. when they get old they lose compression and their ability to rebound, so they clunk because they cant keep the tires completely on the ground. my CSVT was making the same noise, and i replaced my struts around 95k and the noise went away. the brake cable/ sway bar links make the squeaking noise coming from the rear (especially in cold weather).. i completely understand not wanting to do anything in the cold weather, its been in the 20s and 30s here for weeks. and i havent done any work on mine because of it..

I love the Koni kit, but I'm trying not to spend Koni $$$, and I drive the car primarily in Flint. Flint roads SUCK. I've got to have a reasonable amount of ride quality left.

I live in the area and i am fully aware of the roads. Let me tell you, the Koni Kit feels better on crap roads than my monroe setup that the idiot who owned the car before me put on!
