Doe, a deer, a female deer..

At 3:45AM Friday night, a good sized doe ran right in front of my car. It happened so fast I didn't even have time to hit the breaks. The deer flew into the ditch and I think died on impact or shrtly thereafter. I was reaching the end of a 30mph zone and was accelerating. I believe I hit the deer at about 40mph. I am fine and that is really what matters. This is the first deer I have hit. Now I have to bring my car to a body shop and hope they do a good job on it.
 
This is why everybody should go hunting. Screw the sport of it. Keep the damn things out of the road.
 
The insurance company got back to me yesterday and said the price they and the body shop came up with to fix the car was $3,669.93. Still doesn't fail to shock me how fast these damages as up. The car is getting a:

-Front Bumper Cover
-Driver's side headlamp
-NEW hood
-NEW hood lock, vertical lock, latch
-New radiator
-New A/C Condensor

Apparently the radiator and A/C condensor must have been damaged at time of accident. No fluids were leaking though so that is a plus. I look forward to getting my baby back in hopefully a week or so. The body shop I took it to gave me a loaner car, 2002 Pontiac Grand Am 2 door. Damn the car is nasty and very cheap on this inside. Plus it has a CEL on so it gets me like 14mpg. Garbage. I'm just thankful to have a car.
