So I've been driving my new (to me) CSVT for about a month now, and I've figured out what needs work first and foremost. Mostly maintenence stuff that has to be done, but I have found myself at a bit of a roadblock.

My last ride was a '91 Eclipse turbo, which I had kicked the tires and wheels up from 205 wide 16's to 225 wide 17. It handled pretty fantastically up until I destroyed it a month and a half ago =x.

The CSVT I picked up has pretty much shot struts and shocks, so I'm gonna pump my tax return into getting some of that handling back. The problem is, I really don't know jack about suspension setups...lol.

Since I haven't driven a CSVT that had a suspension in good condition, I'm torn between getting new stock gear and trying something aftermarket. A drop isn't that important to me, I am mostly tired of bouncing around on the interstate and wanting my road feel back.

Will a new stock suspension cure what ails me, and let me save some cash for 17" rims and wider tires? Or since I'm spending some anyway, should I look into a sport setup?

Check out the BAT European handling kit. Not too much $$$$, upgraded a bit over stock handling, and about 1" drop. Not as extreme as some of the other combinations available, but mine still handles great with it.

yeah that was the one i had looked at most. driveways and transitions here tend to be kind of steep tho, you have any trouble with bottoming out?

225/50r16's of a good quality will make a difference on the svtc. that was the only change in handling between the years and the later svt's pulled a .90g on the skidpad...thats pretty empressive for a four door sedan from ford:shrug: if your looking for cheap...look in the classifieds for a good used stock setup. but a better choice would be the BAT kit
i'm running koni adjustable struts, and eibach springs

The old 'when stuff breaks, its time to upgrade' logic wins out every time, it would seem. Now I won't feel so bad when I order that stuff in a couple weeks.

I've got BAT struts and springs great combo and it doesn't lower the car too much. I just got back from a 1,500 mile road and loved the suspension the entire time it's a perfect balance between comfort and performance.

just got my bat euro kit a couple days ago just waiting for atleast 40 degree weather to put it on since i dont have a garage. it cost me $815shipped with bat kit strut mounts all around and strut bearings
