Not sure which this belongs in, 3L or FI forums, move it if needed. Im just wondering if anybody is running more than a 75 wet shot on a full 3L. Any special concerns with this being done? All info is appreciated, thanks.

again,it all comes down to the condition of your motor, fuel supply and tuning. i've seen 2.5l pgt's run 100-125 and in one instance on a built engine 150.
personally,i'd think 100 is more than enough, you'd be pushing upwards of 260+whp:shrug:

well i can vouch for the 100 shot is enough i had a 125 shot dry kit on my CSVT for about a year and it did a lot of wear and finally boom ... i was finished but i can happily say that i had a 1999 ford escort ZX2 stock that i ran a 150 shot on for 3 years used atleast weekly and it ran great till i got stupid and upped it to 200 and threw a rod .... :( *Stupidity* but to be young and have fun is priceless ... the cost of a new motor isn't priceless so keep that in mind lol ... anyway NOS kit # 5115 is an easydry set up made for a 5.0 that ranges from 75 shot and up very eazy to install i did it at 16 no mechanical exp... 8 years ago.. and still use the same kit ..anyway whatver ya use or do good luck have fun and don't blow it up unless you got the $$$$$ .....

i ran a 100 shot on a PGT for about a year and sold the car the new owner wrecked it i bought the motor for another pgt i had then put a turbo on that. that motor took a beatin. and i threw a rod in my CSVT just racing a Eclipse on the highway. I still beat him so it was worth it:laugh: And i had a reason to go 3L

fixed. i know thats what you meant

lots of people have run a 75 shot. some have run a 100 shot. i did, and it eventually shattered a piston. my 2.5L had lots of miles also, but it was very healthy and burned no fluids. the 3L will withstand the shot a little better, as the ring lands are thicker and such, but you still stand a chance of shattering a hyperutectic piston. the pistons in these cars are very brittle.

if you run anything over a 75 shot you need to have a very good reliable tune. i didnt have a tune but i have a MSD ignition that allowed me to set a soft rev limiter, launch rpms, and a global timing retard (same amount of retard through the entire rpm range)

i also had two step colder plugs in the car. i always ran premium. i never had a backfire issue, so what i did was good enough to keep the car running good. i also had a wideband 02, and a SAFC2 to tweak the fuel curve even further, even though i had a wet kit.

basically, you can use as much spray as you want. if you want to go over a 100 shot, i suggest you get a dual stage system or a progressive controller so you don't load the engine up with nitrous too early. the higher the rpm, the more nitrous you can spray.
