That is actually a Mitsubishi engine. The stock radiator (and coolant) that came with the car for the 1985 year was crappy and would gunk up after a few years unless proper maintenance was done. ;)
 
That Lebaron 2.2 is all Chrysler, just like my (still rolling) 1985 Dodge Lancer ES Turbo. The Mitsu 2.6 was smoother running than 2.2 (not hard to do that:crazy: ) and non turbo. I could fix that car up. The computer shown is the voltage regulator module, the ECU is in the passenger kickpanel.

No way! I had a 1985 Dodge Lancer ES Turbo too and I could have sworn it was a Mitsubishi engine. Oh well, I guess the gas fumes are starting to do funny things to the brain. :o

Because it would be so cheap and easy to modify to be fast. Tires would be the most expensive thing. Also what would you say if someone toasted your tour in one of those things.

actually, id probably shoot him so he couldnt tell anyone about it. so if i ever get hit up to race a severe POS, im gonna make sure its just me and him, out in the middle of nowhere.

I have that problem:crazy:as well. I have the boost on my Lancer up to 10 PSI, it's still slow (automatic), but easier to keep up in traffic than it was before. When I drive it, I appreciate the Mystique more, but I do like the full digital dash on the Lancer:cool: . I can claim I have a "Lancer with a turbo" if I need to...
