first person gets first dibs no matter what.
Im sick of people screwing me out my offers for parts and such, I think as an honest salesman whoever sends the first offer that is what you are looking for; gets dibs no matter what, provided its the correct price and doesnt require you to bend backwards for product.
Example:
over the last 2 weeks I had been shooting PM's back and fourth to a guy on focus sport (he is REALLY slow at getting back with me) about buying some parts from him. We sent about 4 PM's to each other back and fourth asking for pics and condition. So on the 4th of January I offer EXACTLY what he is asking, and even better since he is local I offer to come pick them up, no hassles to him; he was expecting to have to ship them so bonus for him.
Don't hear from him for about a week (I don't like to hassle people so I figured he was busy). After a week I decided it would be a good idea to check up on the offer. he replies the next day saying "Sold them over the weekend... Sorry."
Annoyed. I go back to look at when I made an offer, which was on the 4th, if he sold the wheels this weekend that would mean he sold them long after I PMed an offer for the price he was asking, then I thought to myself "well maybe he just didnt get online for a while or something" so I checked his recent activity which stated he had been actively posting from the date that I made an offer to today's date. So now im pissed, I PMed him back saying; "I made an offer for what you were asking before this weekend, and you were online and posting after I sent you a PM, I had first dibs, come on man stay committed to your buyers."
This kind of stuff just bothers me, especially since I have been looking for these parts for a while, and to find them locally was just such a treat to not have to pay A LOT of cash in shipping to get them to me to sit around for 3-4 months before I can do anything with them. So to any sellers here, make sure to give the first guy the benefit of the doubt, I have done that numerious times, had people offer me way more then I am asking because the sale was pending from another guy that made an offer for what I wanted for the part. I always sell to the first guy, even if I dont make as much money, its about having satisfied buyers.
