My grandfather passed away last night. He was 87, survived through 3 heart attacks, an unthinkable number of strokes, surgeries, and health issues. When he passed, he had 10% of his heart.

He was a great man who did so much for me and my family. Last year, he gave me a $10K check for school (they don't have a lot of money), I've been driving him to doctors appointments for years, and he's always forced money on me...even when I refused to take it.

He was in the Navy during WWII, and worked hard all of his life to support his family and always had time for a few beers on the side of course :)

A very religious, very proud Irishman, he will never be forgotten and always be remembered he was....

Im not one for making these post's, but I just wanted to get it out

I myself am not very religious, so I ask of you, to send a prayer to him and our family.

Im sorry to hear about your loss. The man sounds like a fine, wise man that offered and could've offered so much more to us.

I never had a grandpa and I can only imagine as I have 1 grandmother that is very old and has my heart. I dont know what I would do.

Sorry to hear about your loss,as I don't know you but my heart goes out to you and your family.I know how hard a death in the family can be,as my dad just passed away back in june.May your Grandfather RIP and your family recover.

I am very sorry to hear that. I know what it's like. I was very close to my grandfather and I rarely got to see him as I got older. Time heals wounds, but you'll never forget him. My prayers are with you and your family.
