I was doing the all so simple fog light mod to where they come on with your hazards. Well, I read the direcections wrong, and now only my hazards will come on! :troutslap: I know, I should've printed them.

I yanked the relay out, and did a search on the part number. I think that is my culprit, I searched all the fuses under the hood, and none are blown. Does anyone else have any opinions on whats wrong? I wasn't able to find much but here is the relay part number: 93BG13L0229AA

Any help is greatly appriciated.

Disconnect all you did, reconnect to stock and see if the problem goes away.

And yes, it is possible that the relay broke. You can try resetting it by removing and reinstalling the relay. It is also supposed to reset then the battery is disconnected.

My lows, highs, and fogs will not turn on. I checked fuses 1-18 and they are all good. I've had the relay sitting on my desk for a few hours now. In the morning I'll go plug it back in, and try again, then try disconnecting the battery.

Fuse 26 Main light, R9 and R10 (low and high beam). If you have DRL, check R1 too.

Does the car start and run? And do the other (radio, courtesy, instrument panel, etc.) work too?

Tony I appriciate the help.

I just ran out to double check things. The fog fuse was blown, so I replaced that. Everything works but the highs, lows, and fogs. Currently the ORANGE wire is cut, if I touch that to the constant 12v the lows will come on, and always stay on, no matter what the position of the switch.

If I am not mistaken, the orange wire goes to Fuse 26 as main light fuse.
What year is your Contour and what engine?

Alright, i don't feel like getting into the compartment fuse box in pitch black, I'll give it a go in the morning and check fuse 27.
Fuse 26 main lights. Yes, try tomorrow (later today) . It's late (or early) and you will be prone to mistakes.

Don't mean to steal the thread, but my 98.5 SVT fogs don't come on and the fuse is good. I checked all the wires under the steering column and those that run to the fogs as far as I can see and there are visually no problems. My question... on Rays list of fuses and relays, I don't see a relay for the Fogs?!?! Any ideas why not? That could be my problem.

Thanks.

Thats because the relay is one of the several that aren't in fuse boxes.

According to the owners manual:

R17 - Not Used
R18 - Black - Express down windows
R19 - Blue - Speed control cut-out
R20 - Not Used
R21 - Not Used
R22 - White - Fog lamps
R23 - Black - Turn signal
R24 - White - Left panic alarm flasher
R25 - White - Right panic alarm flasher
R26 - Not used
R27 - Not used
R28 - Not used
R29 - Brown - Door lock control

To get to the fog lamp relay, take off the panel under the steering column, then locat the light switch, driectly back on the top of the inside, is the relay. Toggle the fogs on and off and you should feel it.
