Well yesterday I popped my hood just to check my engine quick to make sure nothing was wrong with it. It was all good so I closed it and parked it for the night. Today I just got home to notice my hood was popped still, thats odd I just closed it yesterday. Anyways I just tried to close it, but it was still popped. This was odd I thought as I tried to clear away any snow ice etc that might be blocking it from closing. After this I still tried it and it would not close. Well I went inside the car to hit the hood pop button, but It was already pulled, and was staying up, from last night... Not only that I tried to push the lever back to its original place, and it stayed... whew, I tired pulling on it again to see If something was frozen in the detaching mechanics, but there was no resistance on the lever, and I didnt hear anything like I normally do. So I need to find out how to fix the level so that it works, Thanks for any info, I can get pics up if needed too.

Spray the latch with WD-40, liberally. It's probably frozen, as you said. Get a long screwdriver, push/move the latch back and forth to loosen it up. Could also try a hairdryer.

Well my hood had that problem. but i fixed it. first you need to check and see if the hood hasnt shifted a little. Take it off and try to latch it without it being attached to the car. sometimes the struts holding it bend or shift a little. if that dosent work take the latch attachment off of the car. and fitle with it. clean it and see if it works. then reattach it and move it to where it lines up with the hood perfectly. it should work you can move the attachment around till it fits and the hood.

If there is no resistance on the pull inside the car, the cable may be frozen or the latch may be frozen as someone already pointed out.

It'd very unlikely that the position of the hood is the problem. Aside from it being the "not closed all the way" position.

I wouldn't bother with taking the hood off until you've inspected the cable and the latch assembly first.

Good News. I can now close the hood, there is a square thing to the right of where the clip goes in. If I move that over after I pop the hood it will close. But when I pop the hood again, I need to move the square thing. O well I will just wait untill spring and everything thaws to check it out.
