Factory Radio won't turn on

Is it factory radio or aftermarket (Sony, Alpine.etc.)
Check Fuses 25 (Door locks) and 32 (radio) in Passenger Compartment Fuse box. Left of steering column, under the dash, around where your left knee is.

Like stated above, check fuses and make sure it has power to it.
FWIW, when I got my 98 SE, the radio would not turn off. After I had an electrical problem and had to disconnect the battery,it never turned on again.
I got one from Ebay and it worked. So, it could be the power button.

under the dash around where you knee is? don't you mean your foot by the kick panel? Your talking about the box that swings down right? yea I checked 25 and 32 are good
Nah, I usually don't use that term unless I want to describe where to locate the fuel cut off switch....don't you mean your foot by the kick panel? ....
As yes, I meant the Passenger Compartment fuse box, the one that swings down.
Maybe the radio is bad. Remove it and hardwire it to a 12 volt source and see if it works.

when i try to hard wire it, the radio should turn on with just power and ground or do i need to hook up the illum wire to?
in this digram http://b-rad.is-a-geek.net/CEG/Circuits/radio circuit.jpg there is a section cut of with some wires goin to it what is this in the pic the connector? I can't tell since the bottom of the square is cut of does any one have the full pic? also I noticed on the top of the pic it shows the fuses 34,32,25, thoses are fuses for the radio and door locks which both don't work
