What is this black box?

This is a really crappy pic of it, but what is that black box? There are wires that come from the PCM (I think it is the PCM, center of the car, rear of the engine bay, about a foot down?), go through this box, and then leave the box on the other side...

Some sort of electrical junction box. Only time you need to worry is if the wiring is flaking off. It has a bolt on one end that you need to unscrew to remove it. For the V6, you need to unbolt it for clearance to remove the Driver side tranny-to-fender mount.

Try to tap into the line once it enters the cabin. This way you don't have to worry about future corrossion.
