so i was looking at some old pictures from about 8 years ago when i used to go to a dude ranch in the adirondaks on vacation...and i came across a picture of me drinking a bottle of "root beer". I know its not in any stores here in rochester and i could not find it when i was in pennsylvania a couple months ago, my dad bought it there one year when he went down.... so does anyone know where i can find "the grandaddy of all root beers"

i have found places through google but i dont want a shipment i just want to know where i could pick it up myself... i figured one of you guys might know about this amazing drink:cool:

I think I may remember drinking something like that once. I'll have to check around for you. I know I had Sasparilla from a store around here, and I really want to say it was Sioux City. I'm going to be heading to the store in a little while so I'll keep an eye out.

I checked out the 3 stores I know I've seen sasparilla in and I found nothing. None of them sell any loose cans of soda anymore so I'm guessing that is the reason I couldn't find the sasparilla (i had only seen it in a can). There is still a few more places I have to check, hopefully I can find it again.

Edit:

It appears that Sioux City brand sodas are part of White Rock Beverage Company. Here is a link to a form to fill out to see if their products are available in your area: Click Here. I have filled out the form as well to see if it is still in my area.

Good work on finding that link James. I don't recall seeing that in my area.

If we can figure out a time, I'd be up for that, even though my car looks like :help:.Another person took it upon themselves to run a steak knife across my hood, then down the driver's side and across the trunk and make some zig-zags by the tail light. I keep throwing yellow paint on top so I don't have bare metal showing and I haven't had time to really smooth it out. I'd really like to get the whole car repainted, but this is probably the 4th time it has happened. From far back, the car doesn't look too bad, but when you get up close it really sucks. People keep hitting my rear bumper and the paint is flaking and isn't looking too good. It just makes me so mad that I spent $200 on the front bumper and $300 on the rear and people keep hitting me. Atleast the side skirts are ok, but only because they aren't on the car. I think I'm going to be looking to get another Contour to mod and put my SVT body kit on and use this one as a beater.

This is how I found Woodchuck Cider in my area. I went to the company who makes it and they were able to tell me of a distributor in the area. I noticed how bad the shipping was from some of those online places. I got quotes of $36 and $16 for shipping plus something in the neighborhood of $30 for the drinks!

njk1, have you heard anything back from White Rock yet? I'm still waiting to hear back from them as of now. I've been keeping an eye out in the stores as well, but still no luck.

I could swear I've seen that soda somewhere, I'm thinking the Wegmans in Dickson City, but I'm not sure, just pretty sure I've seen it somewhere.

I made some progress by writing an email to White Rock Beverages. I was given the name of a distributor that should have the soda and I have to contact them to see where they deliver to. Hopefully this should work. Only bad thing is, the distributor is in Lancaster, PA, which is 135mi/2.5 hours away from me. I'm going to get a list of places they distribute and hopefully some one from the area can lend a hand. The name of the distributor is Kirschner's Beverage Distributor.

nice to hear...its a good old 5 1/2 hours from me:laugh: maybe ill get some next time i go to PA... Thanks for all the help

Finally recieved an email from them, with an apology on how long it took... but great news, The nearest distributor to me is capico beverages in syracuse, 8.8 miles away from my aunts house... I think i just found a christmas gift:laugh:

Thanks for the help!
