How much have you paid to have your bumper resprayed? I was going to bring it to the shop already off the car to save some costs, and so I'd be able to drive the car still. Is it legal to drive without the rear bumper? It's being sprayed the same color, but I do want the back bottom part repainted black.

A place near me quoted 250 or something. It was $1000 to repair chips, respray, and blend to fenders for Hood/Bumper/Oval/Mirko.

If you're stingy you could probably get it cheaper. If you're near MI I think FabioSVT can hook you up with a discount.

As far as I know you're fine to drive w/o the bumper cover. Just not w/o the bumper that's underneath.

I got my side Skirt done for 40. I'm going to spray my mirko myself, but could get it done for the same. If I wanted my bumper sprayed, I would take it off and bring it in. Then I could definitly get it done for under a hundred. There is a certian amount you can haggle a body shop for. If they tell you more than you want to pay, say "No thanks. The place up the road is going to be cheaper." If they still don't get in the ballpark figure, the do go up the road and try the same thing. Bottom line, don't be an overpaying sucker.

I think it really depends on the color. A color like black is pretty much universal for every car manufacturer and the paint shop probably has plenty of this in stock. Any other color thats Contour specific, they are going to have to order at least a pint of paint. Whether they use all of it, you are still going to pay for the entire pint.

If you can get the Mirko done for 40 I'd let the shop do it.
I ended up paying somewhere around $40 for materials alone

I already have the frost silver paint, clearcoat, body filler, sanding stuff, ect. I just need the time.

True. T red is going to be more. It was $120 just for a side skirt for me. I went to 5 different shops too.

I went to the shop for an estimate, since a car backed into my front bumper a week ago and it needs to be repainted, and I also asked how much for the rear bumper, he said 200 to 250, not sure why it wasn't a set price. When I drop the car off I'm going to try and tell him he said 200 which I think he'll be fine with because I'm having him do other work as well.

Did you bring the bumper and show them first hand? If not, I can understand the range of price. Most shops probably dont even know what an svt is let alone the contour, so they probably dont even know who big it is.

125 for front 125 for bumpers..Includes DA sand..Hand sand...Prep..Prime..Wetsand..Base and clear..Some bumpers only need a wet sand and base and clear..
