A while back my heat/air would only work on high. Recently it's stopped working altogether. Easy fix right? I replaced the blower motor resistor but alas, still nothing. Yesterday I pulled the whole fuse box apart and look for signs of burning/melting and found nothing. Now, I have power up to the wires going into the back of the HVAC, but nothing coming out. Are the speed control and the direction control switches tied together or completely seperate? I also can feel the relay energize (clicking when turning from off to panel) but I have no voltage at the plug going into the blower motor itself. This could be completely unrelated but I have no rear defroster either. The switch won't light up or anything. I'm out of ideas. Can anyone shed any light on my situation? It's supposed to snow on Tues.

I'll buy it from you :)

give me a call tonight and i'll try to give you some tips mike

Some time back, probably about a year ago, my blower would cut off randomly and no air would move at all. I looked around on the forums and found out about a guy that found the spot from the cabin fuse box that powers the blower. His was all burnt up and melted. So, I looked at mine an sure enough that whole corner of the fuse box was melted. (The article is still in the old forums I think.)

I went and picked up a fuse box and cut off that connector from a car in the junk yard and it has worked fine since then. The plug that is being mentioned is the one in the top left corner (if you have it taken out with fuse side down) with 2 wires to it, a red and green wire. The red one is the one to the blower. Be careful that you make sure you connect the green one VERY securly becuase it happens to the power wire for the fuel pump. Don't know why Ford did that.

I will try and find the pictures of mine if that would help. I dont know if the old forum saved the pictures from the original post.

no defrogger? What ever will you do with all of those frogs!?

im going to have go with a blown fuse on this one, especially since your rear defroster wont even light up.

Rear defroster is fine now. Somebody unplugged it before I woned it. Still have no blower though and all fuses and relays are fine.

Blower motor is fine. I jumped it straight off the battery. WIth winter quickly approaching is there a way to just wire a switch into the power for the blower motor? I know this is ghetto but I NEED this fixed and i'm out of options.

...is there a way to just wire a switch into the power for the blower motor? ....
Yes. Splice wire from "wire to old switch" to the new switch and new switch to (wire to blower from old switch).

.... Now, I have power up to the wires going into the back of the HVAC, but nothing coming out. ....

But is appears your old switch is the problem. Just change that and you should be good to go.

Heater blower motor switch. Figure 2.
....Check blower switch (the one with blower speed) on instrument panel. That has had issues in the past. autozonelink

I swapped out HVAC panels and still nothing. What I mean is I have power going into the selector (AC, panel, floor) but nothing coming out of the fan switch (lowest, low, medium, high). Is this normal? Where should I be checking for power after the relay? Does anyone have a schematic of this?

This is the blower heater switch which has a extended warranty due to issues. Unplug the connector at the back. Probe the wires.

Is there power going in? NO, then it is the wiring from the fuse box. Yes, then is there power on the wire to the blower. No, then it is the switch or wire to the blower. Splice the end near the switch to the blower. If it works now, it is the wire. If not, it is the switch.
