Ive noticed this since I bought the tour back in june. Im getting a unusual "smell" from the passenger side rear wheel well. I dont smell it anywhere else on the car. Cant put a finger on it but almost smells like a fluid of some sort..Could it be a brokin/leaky strut? Car has 130,000 miles and I know the suspension is original and needs an upgrade.

lol,,,,my first post in troubleshoot, and its about a stinkin' wheel well.

I peaked around in there again today. No signs of leaky strut and/or break fluid. Stinkin wheel well ..Im gonna dig in a little deeper tommorrow and see if I can find the source. Might find a nest or better yet, large bag of cash.

New suspension is on my list. Page 1, item 3.....

Money bags .

Could it be a seriously dragging brake ?

Is the wheel hot or warm to the touch, when compared to the other rear wheel ?

As a matter of fact, when I bought the car the e-brake cable on that side was for the most part was "stuck". The rotors where toast. I disconnected the cables at the calipers on both sides and replaced pads and rotors the next day. Everthing moves as it should now. No e-brake of course.

!!! May be residual effects from the prior dragging brake....? !!!

i hate that e-brake system...seems to be a bunch of trouble !

does it smell like brake lining ? is it warm/hot to the touch ? if indeed it is dragging there should be a noticeable difference in temparature between the back hubs.

be careful not to get the thing too hot, good way to fry a wheel bearing, rotor, etc
