Anybody looking for a SHO project?

I would buy it in a second if it wasn't way over by you guys. It isn't the traveling I would mind, you guys just stink.

I need another fwd 4door ford like I need another hole in my butt.

That's not very nice.

I've had Merkur on the brain lately  as a second car when I get some spare income (if such a thing even exists.)

Ha! He said "spare income!" That's rich. Oh! My side hurts. Don't make me laugh!

There's one in E. Freetown for $800 -- isn't that down toward beautiful Fall River? It's not a stick, though. The guy who wrote the ad has his facts a little muddled, as the car was actually built in Germany, but you say tomato, I say tom-ah-to...

April, my project car, was a great experience. She was not, however, cheap. Having bought her for $500, I put $11,000 into her. She was pretty great when I was finished, but could have used still more money. All this after the trans, engine, suspension, etc. had been replaced. You name the sensor, we replaced it. All the 60K valve adjustments were done, with new shims and lash caps where necessary. New T-belt. New crank and cam position sensors. New water pump, coolant temp sensor, lower control arms with ball joints, Earl's stainless steel brake lines, in addition to new brake hard lines -- the list goes on.

If I had my shorts in a twist about getting a SHO, I'd go with a pretty cherry one -- and it would damn sure be a stick, like my first one -- a deep jewel green gem that I ran for abou 222,000 miles. Anyway, here are two examples, although they are both automatics:

no doubt the SHO is sweet, but it's just too similar to the contour to justify owning both, for me at least.

I find them to be like night and day. The SHO feels like a Spanish Galleon next to the Contour. Road noise is less -- ride is better but sacrifices little in handling. Interior space is quite a bit greater in the SHO. They're only similar in their layout and overall mission -- to thrill with four doors. After that, they're each their own distinct beasts.
