Projector Gurus

Valeo projector. well, its the smallest you'd want to use as a low beam... There is a 50mm projector unit, but its size limits its power.

Length = 150.00mm

available in 3 variations:
D2S HID
H7 Halogen
D1S Hid

60mm from seat of lense holder to the mounting holes

Thanks Alex...
They even look a little too long. I wanna do the install on the Grand Prix, but the header panel is like an inch and a half behind the headlight...

Not too much room to play back there. I was actually looking at the Hellas, I know your opinion on them, but They do look a bit shorter than the rest.

Nah, I found a cheap set of hologen projectors awhile back just for a test fit....no go.

Need something really small.....Any pics of the Hellas?

Saturday I'm going over by Kevins, I'll shoot some pics over there to show you guys what I mean by very limited space.

This project is goig to very hard based on the fact that the adjuster adjusts the reflector only, not the entire capsule like most headlights.

Then mount the projector to the reflector... Like you are supposed to do.

I know that....It's because of the limited space I don't want to keep spending money on hit or miss projectors.

Goonz, do you have any pics during the install of the Valeos?

This sticks out way to far..

Hologen from a Mazda...

Pretty Sure Mike Levi on CGP used the E46 Projectors. I know a few sets were also made with the Hella Halogen projectors for the Prix. What's your CGP screen name outta curiosity?

Have you ever tried to think up your own ideas, or do you just follow what everyone else does.

Reflectors are just big pieces of Resin, that are very fragile. Then those reflectors are attatched to the headlight via plastic mounting cups. You expect all of these components to just hold this extra weight? pfft. Too many times I see retrofits and as an addendum to the pictures I see "oh dont mind the massive globs of JB weld all over, the reflector cracked." Ask Goonz how much fun it was watching his projectors bounce up and down because the reflector was not made to hold the extra weight. On top of all that, often times the reflectors limit the size of the projector you can use (like on the contour). Think I make FX35, TSX, RX330 projectors fit with the reflector?

How about you come back and give your expert advice when you've actually done... or at the very least started a retrofit. But what do I know? Im new to this whole game.

PS Steve get me on AIM, send me pictures w/ measurements of what you're working with and ill help you work out a mounting solution
