Hi, i have a 98 Mystique 2.5 L V6 that is blown, i'm gettin another 2.5L V6 engine but the only difference is...i think it's a SVT engine...would there be any difference in wiring or so when i go to do the swap?

I dont believe the wiring is different... it sound work fine, but you might need a tune due to the difference in components the SVT motor has more agressive cams, higher compression pistons, higher flowing fuel injectors, and extrude honed upper intakes.

Lucky you for finding a good SVT engine, probably paid a pretty penny for it.

What year is the motor? What color are the valve covers?

well it's coming out of a 1997 Mercury Mystique..the UIM is black and has the plaque that says "FORD SPECIAL VEHICLE TEAM" on it...nd i paid $300 CDN for the engine nd tranny...with 253, 000 KM on it

unfortunately, you probably dont have an SVT engine, someone could have just slapped the SVT uim on there. What color are the fuel injectors? light brown or green?

honestly i didn't look at the engine that good how can i tell whether it's an SVT or not?

well what I just asked you is how you can tell.

95-97 Duratecs (obviously non SVT) had Black valve covers and a grey Upper intake manifold, along with the light brown, smaller fuel injectors

98-00 non SVT duratecs had Grey Valve covers and Grey upper intake manifolds, also had light brown fuel injectors

SVT duratecs (98-00) had Black valve covers, black intake manifolds, and bright green fuel injectors.
