What does this wire go to

Down by the dead pedal. Blue/purple wire. It was disconnected when I bought the car.

Incidentally, the fog lights and dome light do not work. (Map lights do work, as do footwell lights.) Would this be related? Where does it plug in?

Ignore the big blue wire at left, that is for audio power (currently disconnected).

do you see an empty plug up where the rest of the wires go??

looks like that's the only place it could possibly fit with the slack that's there...

There is an opening for it right above where it is hanging. Your going to have to stick your head way up under. It's just behind the fuse panel. Right behind where the holes are for the door chime.

Thanks! I couldn't find the plug which is why I posted. Very tricky spot. I'll put it in tomorrow evening and see if anything entertaining happens.

Nothing entertaining happened, but nothing else happened either.

FWIW I studied the electrical/vacuum troubleshooting manual and it looks like this wire goes to the rear defrost grid.

Does it work? Been a lot of fog on the outside at night lately in NY..

No clue .. I haven't driven the car (a few other interior pieces are in disarray right now). It hasn't been bad around here regardless; I've used the defrost in the Maxima only once this season. I may have damaged the grid while removing tint residue, so if it doesn't work there could be many other reasons.

Kind of disappointed; I was hoping this would solve my dome light issue! Back to traditional diagnostics I suppose (testing the bulb / testing for current).
