I just wanted to let everyone know how great HELM is.

I've ordered a couple shop manuals from them in the past for my Honda's and hadn't had any problems. So when I got my 98 SVT I looked on their site to see they carried shop manuals for the 98 Contour. A bit steep at $110 plus tax and handling but it includes two volumes and I know it'll pay for itself so... it's worth it.

Anyways, so I just got them in the other day. I opened the box to find that Vol.1 had the binding coming apart and Vol.2 had water damage to half the pages (stiff, warped and stuck together). So I called HELM and explained the problem and without any questions they said they would re-ship my order and I would have it in 3 business days. They also asked for me to just discard the previously shipped manuals, they dont even want them back. I thought I would have to go through shipping them back and waiting for a return shipment but they were very nice and helpful. More than worth the cost of the manual.

Just thought I would let people know about HELM Inc.'s great customer service.

So far the manuals look good but there is one thing that I see that I dont really care for... they have all the torque specs listed in only Nm instead of also listing the equivalent lbs/ft value, my torque wrench is only lbs/ft so I will have to convert the numbers which I've already found the conversion value for it so... Not a BIG deal but it's just something I've noticed.

$10 to Todd and you can get a Ford Service CD which has every procedure you need to know on the ford contour including torque specifications in ft/lb, with in depth images and tool part numbers.

LMAO! Not even that much. Try $8. I've removed or fixed everything on a Contour w/o a $110 manual.

hmmm... well I guess since I don't know who Todd is, oh well. It's still not a waste though, definitely more than $10 but still worth it.

Did you pick up the official Ford service manuals? They are about 3" thick and have a blue cover? Thats what I had when doing everything with my car. Came in handy.
