Usually when i mess around in the car the rev limiter usually kicks in around 5900 RPM. well lately i've been able to take the car upwards to just over 7000 RPM! is there something wrong w/ the car or wat? i dont mind it goin that high, just as long as i dont blow anything up.

ATX or MTX?

Either way, you shouldnt be driving it like a **** head, if you keep "redlining" it you are going to blow it anyways, just watch the rev counter and back off the throttle if it overrevs. (ATX)

the next quesiton is does it shift harder now (atx)?

its a MTX and i havent been driving it like a **** head. i was driving on a rainy day and had to pull into some traffic and the tires broke loose and i saw the tach jump to 7000. i thought it must just be from the tire spin, but tried it on dry road anyways and found it'll go that high now for some reason and it never did before. i havent been doing it though since those 2 instances.

in that case you are fine, Redline on a zetec contour is 6500 RPMS. the rev limiter will kick in around 7grand. If the tach is displaying otherwise then your tach is off.

their should be thread in the zetec section somewhere. Big discussion on this.

yeah thats the one. i was just being lazy, figuring i could make him search for it.

thanks guys, so i guess my tach is off then. cuz when i first got the car and tried messin around w/ it, the rev limiter kicked in just before 6000RPM
